Jessica Robertson, Public Affairs Specialist for the U.S. Geological Survey, helps inform the media and the public about the USGS’s work in coastal and marine geology, climate change, energy resources, and mineral resources.

Jessica joined the USGS in 2006 after completing her bachelor’s of science degree in marketing management at Virginia Tech. She is currently pursuing a master of arts degree in communications with a concentration in health and strategic communication at George Mason University. She is also a figure skating coach and spent most of her childhood and teen years as a national skating competitor, making her well adapted to icy environments.

  The 2009 U.S.-Canada Arctic Continental Shelf Survey is underway from August 7 - September 16. Blog posts from sea are authored by the various agencies collaborating during the expedition. More information on the U.S. Extended Continental Shelf Project can be found at continentalshelf.gov.
