The movie “The Impossible” graphically depicts destruction caused by the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami which resulted in catastrophic loss of life and property – are similar, equally destructive events likely to occur in the Pacific Northwest? USGS Geographer Nathan Wood will explain which coastal communities are the greatest risk, and what can be done now to prepare for future Cascadia tsunamis. He will also explain how he provides disaster planning officials with needed information to develop effective emergency response plans.
