Highlights of Budget Changes

Highlights of Budget Changes - The FY 2002 budget proposes a total appropriation of $813.4 million for the USGS.  This compares to the FY 2001 enacted appropriation of $882.8 million.  Proposed net funding changes in each of USGS program/budget activities are as follows:

Geologic Hazards, Resources, and Processes - $11.5
Water Resources Investigations - $44.0
Biological Research - $11.3
Science Support and Facilities + $  4.2
Total net change from FY 2001 enacted - $69.4 million
