While many budget tables are developed to display a budget submission or show the cumulative effect of multiple actions during a single budget year, the Multi-Year History Tables provide a point of view that looks over many fiscal years for information related to USGS’s Surveys, Investigations, and Research (SIR) account. As a result, glancing at a display of five, ten, or twenty fiscal years potentially gives one a better vantage point of trends or changes that would not be obvious when viewing one fiscal year at a time.
- Account Level (SIR) Table (Excel) – shows USGS account level budget authority from initial enacted funding level through all subsequent budget actions to final (actual) budget authority. Also, depicts final budget authority by duration (one-year, multi-year, and no year).
- Budget Activity Table (Excel) – depicts USGS funding at one level below account funding (Budget Activity) from the initial enacted funding with a net funding change for all subsequent budget actions to final (actual) budget authority. Also, provides final budget authority by duration (one-year, multi-year, and no year) by budget activity.
- Combined Structures Tables (Excel) – summarizes USGS funding at the budget activity level but displays funding at the full budget structure level (budget activity, subactivity, and program element). In addition, reimbursable and total (appropriated plus reimbursable) funding is shown at the budget activity level. Finally, an inflator/deflator index and calculator is available to produce constant dollar funding for various base years.
