QUESTION: Why would I give TNMCorps consent to publish my username?
ANSWER: When you sign up for The National Map Corps, you have the option of giving us permission to publish your username on our websites and social media accounts. TNMCorps applauds volunteers for their participation and achievements as part of our volunteer recognition and mapping challenge outreach programs. We do this by listing volunteers’ usernames on recognition leaderboards, in mapping challenge updates, and in social media posts.
If you’d like to be included in these shout-outs, go to your user profile in the editor and make sure you’ve checked the box giving us consent to list your username. See FAQ – User Profile Settings for guidance on how to do this.
However, there’s no obligation. If you’d rather we not list your username on our public sites, simply leave this box unchecked and your username will not be listed.
