What band combination is used for Landsat browse images?

Landsat browse images are displayed as false color RGB composites using the following band combinations:

Landsat 8 OLI: Bands 6,5,4. Pixels are resampled from the original 30 meter data to 180 meters.

Landsat 7 ETM+ SLC-off (July 2003 to present): 5,4,3 with a 2% linear stretch. Pixels are resampled from the original 30 meter data to 180 meters.

Landsat 7 ETM+ (July 1999-June 2003) and Landsat 4-5 TM: 5,4,3 with 2% linear stretch applied. Pixels are sub-sampled from the original 28.5-meter (TM) or 30-meter (ETM+) meter data resolution to 240 meters, and are color-stretched based on individual scene content.

Landsat 1-3 MSS 7, 5, and 4, with a 2% linear stretch applied.
