The "Error: Inventory request failure" message occurs if our ScienceBase catalog database is not responding to download requests. To ensure data integrity, the ScienceBase catalog is shut down for nightly backup at 11:00 pm MT, which takes between 1-2 hours. If you find that the message is still occurring even after the allotted two hours, then contact TNM Service Desk at firstname.lastname@example.org to alert support personnel that there is a problem with the ScienceBase catalog. However, be aware that we do not maintain 24 hours / seven days a week service support, so it may require waiting until normal working hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm CT from Monday through Friday before it can be brought back up.
