How do I convert DEM elevations (Z units) from meters to feet?

3DEP standard DEMs are derived from diverse source data that are processed to a common coordinate system and unit of vertical measure. All standard DEM elevation values are in meters. To convert the Z unit of downloaded DEMs from meters to feet, use this formula:  feet = meters / .3048

This can be done in a variety of software packages. It is important to note that the above formula must be used because the actual pixel values (elevation) must be changed, not just the spatial referencing information. After converting, make sure to also change the spatial referencing information.
