The USGS Denver Paleontology collections are not a museum - more like a library. These are “working” research collections. Researchers visit routinely.
Unfortunately that’s not feasible. There are one full-time and two part-time employees. Some fossil photos can viewed and downloaded from the USGS Photographic Library .
We have limited space.
I'm a collector doing research on Cambrian trilobites. Can I use the USGS collections to help identify my specimens?
Yes. Researchers are always welcome to visit. Appointments for research are required.
