Subject: Alternative Dispute Resolution Policy – Conflict Resolution PLUS (CORE PLUS) Program
Consistent with the Department of the Interior's Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) policy and the Departmental Manual chapter on the COnflict REsolution PLUS Program (370 DM 770), the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) endorses the use of the ADR as a standard business practice through the services provided by the CORE PLUS Program. Executives, managers, and supervisors at all levels are expected and encouraged to explore opportunities to use collaboration strategies for effective conflict prevention, management, and resolution within their organizations. Likewise, all employees are encouraged to seek available ADR services for resolving conflicts that arise within their work environment.
The CORE PLUS program offers conflict management tools, dispute resolution assistance, education and training to improve communication and team interactions. Services include: consultation, individual conflict coaching, communication and conflict management training, group facilitation, collaborative problem-solving, team interactions and mediation. The CORE PLUS program is a part of the Department's effort to attract, maintain, and support dedicated, talented and resourceful employees who work together to provide exemplary service to the public.
