Course title: Python Programming Language and Groundwater Modeling
Description: Use the Python Programming Language for hydrologic analyses and to improve groundwater modeling effectiveness. This course focuses on the use of the Python programming language to facilitate many of the tasks required for the analysis of hydrologic data, including data processing, time series analyses, statistics, and regression analyses. The last two days of the course will focus on the use of python to develop groundwater flow and transport models and include formatting hydrologic data, constructing model input files, and post-processing and plotting model results.
Introduce the basics of Python programming, including data structures, file manipulation, automation, and plotting. Participants will become proficient at automating common groundwater modeling tasks.
Target Audience:
Scientists performing hydrologic data analyses and developing, calibrating, and using groundwater models. Non-DOI Students may attend on a space available basis. Please submit your Non-USGS Registration form found here:
Students must bring a laptop for this class. The laptop must have special software installed prior to class. Software information will be provided in advance of the class.
