Course code: USGS-OED-GW2096
Course title: Modeling Ground-Water Flow with MODFLOW
Description: This 5-day course presents an introduction to groundwater flow simulation using MODFLOW-2005, the latest version of the USGS modular three-dimensional finite-difference ground-water flow model. In addition to discussing the features & mechanics of using MODFLOW-2005, this course provides a review of the basic concepts of ground-water flow & emphasizes the process of simulation analysis. A series of problem sets are presented that are designed to illustrate concepts such as the development of conceptual models & strategies for model calibration. Students work in groups of two. Laptops will be provided during the class.
To receive the basic concepts of ground-water flow.
Target Audience:
This course is open to all USGS employees who meet these requirements: completed Course GW2192, Ground-Water Flow Systems Analysis & Modeling or equivalent university courses is recommended but not required. Also, having a familiarity with the Microsoft Windows computer operating system will be helpful, but is also not required.
