Course title: Water Quality Field Methods Refresher
Description: This course is designed to enhance skills and knowledge in water-quality field techniques for participants who attended the 2-week Field Water-Quality Methods for Groundwater & Surface-Water Course (QW1028) sometime in the past and to provide information on current technology and methods for participants who may be involved in program development (managers, project chief, science center quality specialists). The course focuses on hands-on application of current protocols for ground-water and surface-water sample collection and processing. Current and emerging microbiological methods and other topical water-quality sampling and processing methods will also be discussed. Field measurements (pH, SC, DO, alkalinity) are NOT included. A tour of the USGS National Water Quality Lab (NWQL) is included.
Target Audience / Prerequisite:
The intended audience is field personnel who have attended the "Field Water-Quality Methods for Groundwater & Surface-Water" course (QW1028) three or more years ago and managers, project chiefs, and water-quality specialists.
