Course title: Indirect Measurement of Peak Discharge
Description: This course will describe the field and office procedures required to measure peak discharge using indirect methods, with emphasis on the slope-area method. Focus will be on data requirements, surveying procedures, high-water marks, selection of cross sections, plotting methods, and computational procedures. Field and office procedures will be covered. Students will survey a field site and compute the discharge from a recent peak flow using the slope-area technique.
Familiarity with basic surveying. If the Student has not had hydraulics training, it is recommended that they view material used to teach "Hydrographer Hydraulics". That material can be found at: .
