Course title: Indirect Measurement of Peak Discharge
Description: This course will describe the field and office procedures required to measure peak discharge using indirect methods, with emphasis on the slope-area method. Focus will be on data requirements, surveying procedures, high-water marks, selection of cross sections, plotting methods, and computational procedures. Field and office procedures will be covered. Students will survey a field site and compute the discharge from a recent peak flow using the slope-area technique.
Familiarity with basic surveying.
