Description: This Hazard Communication course is based on the Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200), now aligned with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS). The modified standard provides a single set of harmonized criteria for classifying chemicals according to their health and physical hazards and specifies hazard communication elements for labeling and safety data sheets. The purpose of the Hazard Communication Standard is to ensure that: • Hazards for all chemicals produced or imported are classified. • Information concerning their hazards is transmitted to employers and employees. • Chemical classification is consistent with the provisions of the United Nations Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS).
