USGS Excellence in Leadership Award—Description

The USGS Excellence in Leadership Award is granted annually to recognize an individual, or group of individuals, for outstanding acts, services, or achievements that exemplify and support the USGS goal of developing a leadership-centered culture throughout the bureau.
The award consists of an acrylic diamond engraved with the recipient's name (or names, in the case of a group), a summary of the contributions, and the date of presentation; and a citation and certificate signed by the Director. In addition, the recipient's name (or names, in the case of a group) will be included on the Excellence in Leadership Award Plaque that will be displayed permanently at the USGS National Center in Reston, Virginia. The award will be presented at the annual USGS honor awards ceremony in Reston, Virginia. A copy of the award memo, nomination, and sample citation, is listed below. Past Recipients |
