Annually, the USGS announces a Call for Nominations for the Leadership Intensives and Leadership 101 classes. This announcement is traditionally communicated early in October to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and is announced on the All Employee Bulletin Board.
Leadership 101 and Leadership Intensive courses are filled by nomination. Each ELT member is allotted a specific number of spaces commensurate with the size of their organization. Submissions are forwarded by the ELT to the Office of Organizational and Employee Development (OED ) by the due date. Selectees receive confirmation from the OED with specific class information and logistics.
If you are interested in attending one of the Leadership classes, talk to your supervisor and let them know you would like to be nominated.
Leadership Intensives—Numerous classes are hosted each year by the Area and Headquarters offices around the country.
Leadership 101—is offered four times per year and takes place at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, National Conservation Training Center, in Shepherdstown, West Virginia.
