This sample workforce plan from the former USGS Geology Headquarters office demonstrates how an organization within USGS articulated their strategic goals, future workforce profile, current workforce profile, gap analysis, and recommended strategies to arrive at the future organization needed to accomplish its strategic goals. Due to the reorganization in 2010, the Geology Headquarters office was divided up and put within different Mission Area offices, therefore the organization as described in the workforce plan is no longer in existence.
