Eruption of Mount St. Helens 2005-2006: Instrumentation and Continuing Dome Growth X, May through September 2006. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is releasing a 12 minute video of Mount St. Helens, taken by staff at the USGS Cascades Volcano Observatory (CVO). Copies of the video will be available for pick up at CVO after 12:00 noon on Thursday, September 28th, at the Friday, September 29th news briefing, or by contacting Don Becker at USGS/EROS. Public release of the video is embargoed until Friday, September 29th, at 10 a.m. PDT The b-roll footage shows recent Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) thermal imaging of the growing dome and surrounding area and time-lapse photography of Mount St. Helens dome growth from the "Brutus" camera site. The b-roll tape is available in most formats and is intended for use by all media including news, television programming, independent production and the web.
