Bryant CramerAssociate Director, Geography, USGS Hi-res | Geography
Career History and Highlights: Bryant Cramer joined the USGS in June 2008 and became the Associate Director for Geography in January 2009. He comes to the USGS after spending 30 years at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) holding positions at the Johnson Space Center, the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC), and NASA Headquarters. From January 2006 through June 2008, Bryant served as the Deputy Director of the Earth Science Division within the Science Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters. Bryant has worked on the New Millennium Program (NMP); the successful Earth-orbiting -1 Mission; assumed responsibility for the GSFC missions within the theme known as the Structure and Evolution of the Universe that includes the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna, Constellation-X, Gamma-ray Large Area Space Telescope, and the Einstein Probes; in 2003 he also became the Program Manager of the CALIPSO Mission. Education:Bryant has a Bachelor of Chemistry from Northwestern, an MD from the University of Chicago, and a PhD in Engineering also from Northwestern. He also studied at the University of Freiburg in Germany.
