As part of the effort to set up the NGPO, I have been asked by the Director to develop a plan for the NGPO and to recommend its structure, purpose, vision, mission, and how it will be supported. To assist in the preparation of the plan, I am pleased to announce the establishment of several NGPO Study Teams. These teams are charged to deliver reports identifying issues and alternative solutions for their respective areas. I thank each of the co-leads and executive support for their willingness to contribute to the creation of the NGPO. We have tremendous potential in the full portfolio of our national geospatial assets. By capitalizing on that potential, we can share in the Director's vision for the USGS as a chief architect of the geospatial future of the Nation.
