Following is a list of persons who may be eligible for noncompetitive appointment eligibility.

NOTE: This is NOT an all-inclusive list; rather, it is a list of the most common noncompetitive appointment eligibility. Follow the links for more specific information on each authority.

• A Veterans Readjustment Appointment / Veterans Recruitment Appointment (VRA) eligible. Consult the Office of Personnel Management's VetGuide for more information.
• Veterans who are 30% or more disabled. Consult OPM's VetGuide and their guidance on employment of persons with disabilities.
• Noncompetitive appointment of certain military spouses to competitive service positions. Refer to the Feds Hire Vets Q&As on this topic at http://www.fedshirevets.gov/hire/hrp/qaspouse/index.aspx.
• Persons with disabilities who are severely physically disabled or mentally impaired. Consult OPM's guidance on employment of persons with disabilities and their website on disability employment opportunities or their website on the USAJOBS Federal Employment Information System.
• Appointment of former ACTION/VISTA volunteers.
• Noncompetitive appointment of present and former Peace Corps employees.
• Noncompetitive appointment of former Peace Corps volunteers (see also Executive Order 11103).
• Certain present and former Foreign Service employees who were appointed under the authority of the Foreign Service Act of 1946.
• Certain former overseas employees who seek appointment usually within three years of their return to the U.S.
• Certain National Guard Technicians involuntarily separated within the last year.
