Northern Gulf of Mexico (NGOM) Map Products

The USGS Coastal and Marine Geology Program (CMGP) through its Northern Gulf of Mexico Ecosystem Change and Hazard Susceptibility Project (NGOM) and the Decision Support for Coastal Science and Management Project (DSP) is creating geospatial data products in response to the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Products include best available lidar topography, bathymetry, and high-resolution (< 1 m spatial) aerial imagery of barrier islands, nearshore benthic habitats, and coastal wetlands. Recent land use land cover maps are also being prepared to assess the impacts of the oil spill and overlay NOAA projections of the spill trajectory on these maps.
