Side-scan sonar methods
Techniques of collecting data from the sea floor by towing a vehicle with SOund NAvigation and Ranging systems projecting beams of sound waves into the underwater environment. Data are collected from the returning echoes (backscatter) as the sound waves are relected back from the sea floor or sediments.
