OPR: Admin/Office of Facilities and Management Services
1. Purpose. This chapter lists the Office of the Solicitor's Regional and Field Office locations where legal assistance is available for resolving matters involving USGS programs and activities.
2. Locations of Offices (111 DM 2).
A. Washington, D.C. The Office of the Solicitor provides assistance in legal matters occurring in the national capital area and in places where no Regional or Field Solicitor is available.
B. Northeast Regional Office provides assistance in legal matters occurring in Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Maryland (except locations in the national capital area), Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia (except locations in the national capital area), West Virginia and Wisconsin.

C. Southeast Regional Office provides assistance in legal matters occurring in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. However, the Southwest Regional Office handles surface mining in Arkansas and Louisiana.
