The USGS has the world's largest and most comprehensive geoscience library. More than 1.2 million volumes, 270,000 pamphlets, 400,000 microfilms in various languages, and 8,000 different scientific journals are offered at the library. The display consists of a plate tectonic globe, a Grand Canyon raised-relief model, a map dating back to 1858 of the Rio Colorado, and samples of the types of publications, scientific journals, maps, cd-roms, and educational material available at the USGS library.
