Welcome to the Office of Budget, Planning, and Integration (BPI)

BPI is situated within the USGS Directors office and is responsible for a variety of cross-cutting management and operational issues that directly affect USGS’s ability to fulfill its mission. BPI directs and manages the formulation, presentation, justification, and execution funds control for the USGS budget. BPI serves as a driver for leveraging performance-based information into decision making and supports DOI in the development of the strategic plan, goals, annual performance plans and reports. We also ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements related to annual appropriations bills and related functions such as performance, budget, working capital funds, program internal controls and risk.
