How do I take a Leadership Class?

Annually, the USGS announces a Call for Nominations for the Leadership Intensives and Leadership 101 classes. This announcement is traditionally communicated early each FY to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and is announced to all employees.

If you are interested in attending one of the Leadership classes, talk to your supervisor and let them know you would like to be nominated.

 

Leadership Intensives

Numerous classes are hosted each year in various locations. Registration is available in DOI Talent.

 

Leadership 101

is offered two times per year and takes place at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, National Conservation Training Center, in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. Employees are nominated by their ELT members.

 

Leadership 201

is given two times per year at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, National Conservation Training Center, in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. Leadership 101 is a prerequisite and graduates are able to register in DOI Talent. Typical time between sessions is 12-18 months.
