Gray's Pasture is a large flat meadow located in the Island in the Sky district of Canyonlands National Park. Before the park's establishment in the 1960s, the whole area on top of the mesa was reffered to by local ranchers and cowboys as Gray's Pasture, and the area below it as Between the Rivers. Description | Decades have passed since the corral kept animals, but the grasses within are very different. Outside of the corral, cool season grasses are green on the hillside, while more warm season grasses inside have colonized the previously-barren soil. |
