ARkStorm Used as Basis for LA COOP Working Group Exercise/Workshop
The LA COOP Working Group used the ARkStorm Scenario as the basis for their table top exercise and workshop activities and discussions on December 4th. USGS's Erin Burkett presented the science and resources of ARkStorm to set the stage for the workshop breakout groups and sessions that followed. The Los Angeles Area Federal annual Continuity of Operations Preparedness Event, Resilient Angel 2014, was hosted by the Greater Los Angeles Federal Executive board (LA FEB) and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region IX, and the LA-FEB Continuity of Operations (COOP) Working Group. The workshop aimed to leverage resources and increase the individual and collective COOP capabilities within the Greater Los Angeles community by providing tools and activities for use toward meeting requirements and expectations for continuity planning and readiness.
