CASC Tribal Climate Liaisons Contribute to New Status of Tribes and Climate Change Report
Working alongside Tribal managers, leaders, and community members, the CASC Tribal Climate Liaisons informed and co-authored parts of the inaugural Status of Tribes and Climate Change Report.

Developed by the Institute for Tribal Environmental Professionals (ITEP) Tribes and Climate Change Program, the inaugural Status of Tribes and Climate Change Report (STACC) has been released with the stated purpose of seeking to:
"Uplift and honor the voices of Indigenous peoples across the U.S. to increase understanding of Tribal lifeways, cultures, and worldviews, the climate change impacts Tribes are experiencing, the solutions they are implementing, and ways that all of us can support Tribes in adapting to our changing world."
This report is the first of its kind to provide an in-depth review of the unique experiences of and threats to Tribes while also providing recommendations for decision-makers and others supporting Tribal efforts. Indigenous peoples are on the frontlines of those experiencing and adapting to climate change and the STACC recognizes and incorporates Indigenous knowledges and Western Science into its findings and recommendations.
The CASC Tribal Liaisons work with over 100 Tribal Nations on adaptation plans, vulnerability assessments and other climate challenges, and they worked alongside Tribal managers, leaders, and community members as contributors to the STACC’s Working Group.
