National Geographic photographer, Keith Ladzinski, visited Hammond Bay Biological Station on September 11, 2019 to photograph live sea lamprey for a Great Lakes story which will feature invasive species, pollution, climate change, and other ecosystem stressors, as well as tourism, fisheries, agriculture, and other industries in the Great Lakes region. The associated article, written by Tim Folger, will be published in a spring or summer 2020 issue of National Geographic Magazine. Communications associate, Dr. Andrea Miehls (GLSC, Millersburg, Michigan), coordinated the visit to Hammond Bay Biological Station.
