New USGS Fact Sheet Available Online: ShakeAlert-An Earthquake Early Warning System for the United States West Coast

The USGS Fact Sheet "ShakeAlert- An Earthquake Early Warning System for the United States West Coast" is now available online. SAFRR scientist Erin Burkett worked closely with Earthquake Early Warning Coordinator Doug Given and the SAFRR team to create the fact sheet intended for the general public and stakeholders interested in information on Earthquake Early Warning (EEW) and ShakeAlert, the prototype EEW system in development for the western Unites States. The fact sheet provides fundamentals of the science behind how EEW works and describes the current status and future plans and potential uses of ShakeAlert for the west coast. More information on Earthquake Early Warning.
