USGS Data at Risk Project Continues into FY17
The USGS Community for Data Integration (CDI) Data at Risk (DaR) project received funding to continue into Fiscal Year 2017.
Based out of the USGS Fort Collins Science Center, the DaR project documents the processes and resources needed to preserve decades of USGS legacy data and make it available to scientists, policy makers and the public. In a recent support effort the DaR project partnered with the USGS Illinois-Iowa Water Science Center to preserve 11 years of raw gage-height data from the Friends Creek at Argenta stream gage in Macon County, Illinois (1971-1982), converting these data into machine-readable text files. Details about the preservation of the Friends Creek at Argenta stream gage data are available on ScienceBase.
