Bureau of Land Management Recreational Visitor Survey Program Review

Science Center Objects

The Bureau of Land Management Recreation and Visitor Services Program regularly conducts recreational visitor satisfactions surveys. The Social and Economic Analysis branch is assessing the visitor survey effort, recommending updates to the current effort, and providing necessary survey materials.

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Recreation and Visitor Services Program began conducting recreational visitor satisfaction surveys in 2002 to quantitatively document achievement of program objectives in compliance with Government Performance and Results (GPRA) Act.

The Social and Economic Branch at the Fort Collins Science Center is working with BLM-National Operations Center to assess the eighteen (18) year old visitor survey effort; recommend updates to realign the annual effort with Recreation and Visitor Services program information needs and objectives while also satisfying annual GPRA reporting requirements; and then provide a survey strategy, design, and related materials necessary for implementation.
