Vegetation Composition and Management History Data (2015-2019) from Experimental Plots at Badlands NP, Wind Cave NP, and Scotts Bluff NM Used to Develop the ABAM Model

Plant species cover and richness data were collected in experimental plots at three sites: one at Badlands National Park (BADL), South Dakota, one at Scotts Bluff National Monument (SCBL), Nebraska, and one at Wind Cave National Park (WICA), South Dakota. At the Badlands and Scotts Bluff sites, data were collected in the summers of 2015 and 2017-2020 in 50 x 50-m plots with one of five treatments:

Alpine Vegetation Trends in Glacier National Park, Montana 2019

This dataset is focused on alpine plant species presence/absence, species turnover, and trends in species abundance on four mountain summits in Glacier National Park, Montana, USA. This dataset consists of data from 2019, the fourth survey of the project which is on a five year survey schedule. Two summit sites were established in 2003 on Dancing Lady and Bison Mountain, east of the continental di

Wolf survival and cause-specific mortality from 1968-2018 in the Superior National Forest. In

This dataset contains gray wolf (Canis lupus) survival and cause-specific mortality data from radiocollared wolves (n=756 collared-wolf tenures) from 1968-2018 in the USGS Wolf Project study area (2,060 km2) of the Superior National Forest, USA, an area that also includes the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Also, included are the annual resident winter wolf counts for the study area.

Soil profile characteristics of Prairie Pothole Region wetland catchments, 2004

A study was conducted during 2004 to examine soil carbon storage of Prairie Pothole Region wetland catchments. These data represent the soil profile descriptions performed during that study; the remaining data were published previously (https://doi.org/10.5066/F7KS6QG2). Soil profile descriptions were performed at 270 temporary, seasonal, and semipermanent wetland catchments distributed throughout

Genetic and morphologic characteristics of Typha (cattail) taxa of the Prairie Pothole Region of the United States (2018)

Cattail (Typha) is a common plant found throughout the Prairie Pothole Region (PPR) of the United State. Typha x glauca, a hybrid between Typha latifolia and Typha angustifolia, is considered an invasive species that has spread across the PPR, negatively impacting the regions important wetlands and other aquatic habitats. The distribution of the various cattail taxa, however, is not well understoo

Cottonwood Lake Study Area - Invertebrate Counts - 1992 to 2019

This dataset contains macroinvertebrate sampling data for the wetlands in the Cottonwood Lake Study Area, Stutsman County, North Dakota.

Cottonwood Lake Study Area - Breeding Birds - 1992 to 2019

This dataset contains the number of breeding pairs of bird species surveyed in all Cottonwood Lake Study Area wetlands.

Cottonwood Lake Study Area - Amphibians - 1992 to 2019

This dataset contains the number of captured individuals recorded for each amphibian species surveyed in all wetlands in the Cottonwood Lake Study Area, Stutsman County, North Dakota. While amphibians were the target of the surveys, reptiles (i.e., turtles, snakes) were also sometimes captured over the course of the surveys and are included in the data file.

Cottonwood Lake Study Area - Invertebrate Weights - 1992-2019

This dataset contains macroinvertebrate sampling data (weights) for wetlands in the Cottonwood Lake Study Area, Stutsman County, North Dakota.

Cottonwood Lake Study Area - Specific Conductance - 1992-2020

This dataset contains the specific conductance values of water for all wetlands in the Cottonwood Lake Study Area, Stutsman County, North Dakota.

Eriogonum visheri (Visher's buckwheat) seed, pollen, and insects at Badlands National Park, South Dakota, USA, 2014-2015, 2017

This data record contains fitness data for Visher's buckwheat (Eriogonum visheri) for the years 2014, 2015 and 2017 at Badlands National Park, South Dakota, USA. These data include insect visitation, pollen deposited on stigmas, achene size and germination over three field seasons (two field seasons for germination: 2015 and 2017) in four populations (two populations in 2017).

County-Level Geographic Distributions for 47 Exotic Plant Species in Midwest USA and Central Canada, Compiled 2019

Geographic distribution data were collected based on county level occurrences (or converted from point occurrences to county level occurrences) within the five focal states (Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska & Iowa) and each U.S. state or Canadian province bordering those focal states (Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Wyoming, & Montana in the USA and Saskatchewan, Ontario & Ma
