Streamflow Monitoring

Streamflow data are needed at many sites on a daily basis for forecasting flow conditions and flooding, water-management decisions, assessing water availability, managing water quality, and meeting legal requirements. The USGS Pacific Islands Water Science Center has been measuring streamflow in the State of Hawaiʻi and the U.S. Affiliated Pacific Islands for over 100 years at more than 2,000 sites.
