Utah Water Science Center data collection, fundamental to the management of Utah water resources, and special studies fall into at least one of three basic themes: 1) surface water, 2) ground water, or 3) water quality. Utah Geographic themes also define unique areas and include the Great Salt Lake, the Great Basin of western Utah, and the Colorado River Basin of eastern and southern Utah.
