Serum osmolality, cortisol, and protein in laboratory common carp (Cyprinus carpio)

Common carp were placed into three treatment groups based on levels of induced stress in the laboratory setting. Measurements of common carp blood serum cortisol and serum protein were collected by spectrophotometry. Additionally, serum osmolality measurements were obtained by vapor pressure osmometry. Fish weights were taken at the time of blood collection.

Laboratory analysis assessing immune response after flame retardant exposure in American kestrels, Falco sparverius, through 21 days post-hatch

Laboratory analysis of innate American kestrel, Falco sparverius, immune response after exposure to flame retardant, isopropylphenyl phosphate (ITP) through 21 days post hatch. Data consist of flow cytometry files that were generated in the analysis of white blood cells from kestrel blood. Thus, data are in standard format that allows files created by one type of acquisition hardware and software

Coastal wetland vegetation and elevation data characterizing a Sudden Vegetation Dieback event in San Bernard National Wildlife Refuge in 2019

Climatic extremes are becoming more frequent with climate change and have the potential to cause major ecological shifts and ecosystem collapse. Along the northern Gulf of Mexico, a coastal wetland in the San Bernard National Wildlife Refuge in Texas suffered significant and acute vegetation dieback following Hurricane Harvey in 2017. We identified plant zonal boundaries along an elevation gradien

Data from: ''Evaluating the effect of expert elicitation techniques on population status assessment in the face of large uncertainty''

The dataset contains estimates (low, estimate, high) of 12 population parameters for the wood turtle (Glyptemys insculpta) from the literature and experts.

Characteristics of Bacteria and Water Quality along the Buffalo National River 2017-2018

A National Park Service Partnership Program project was conducted in 2017 - 2019 on water quality parameters up-stream and downstream of a confined animal feeding operation on a Buffalo National River tributary (Big Creek). Monthly, over a period of 20 months, patterns of nutrients in water (nitrogen and phosphorus), periphyton (chlorophyll a and algal assemblages), and bacterial responses (viable

Variables pertaining to establishment success of non-native fishes introduced to the Hawaiian Islands and Guam for use in risk analysis modeling

Data represent dependent and independent variables used in logistic modeling for a study entitled "Evaluating Establishment Success of Non-native Fishes Introduced to Inland Aquatic Habitats of Tropical Pacific Islands." The phases of invasion of nonnative species are transport, introduction, establishment, and spread. To understand likelihood of establishment of species moved to new regions, inve

Xenopus metamorphosis after neonicotinoid exposure

Xenopus laevis tadpoles were held in 4 replicate vivaria for each of 4 treatments of neonicotinoid pesticides and one control treatment for at least one month (Control media, thiamethoxam high concentration of 100 ppm, thiamethoxam low concentrations of 20 ppm, clothianidin high concentrations of 100 ppm, and clothianidin low concentration of 20 ppm). Water was sampled for chemical testing on Day

Specimen observation data for Najas marina L. from 1863 to 2020

The North American distribution of Najas marina L. from 1863 to 2020 is presented in this dataset. Fields provided include georeferenced coordinates, dates of collections, collectors, and source herbaria. Data are housed in the U.S. Geological Survey's Nonindigenous Aquatic Species Database (nas.er.usgs.gov).

Discerning innate immunity in American kestrels, Falco sparverius, through 21 days post-hatch

Data consist of flow cytometry files that were generated in the analysis of white blood cells from kestrel blood. Thus, data are in standard format that allows files created by one type of acquisition hardware and software to be analyzed by any other type.

Gene expression and liver cell metabolism from Xenopus laevis tadpoles exposed to neonicotinoids

Data were collected from Xenopus laevis tadpoles exposed to clothianidin and thiamethoxam in two concentrations each, 100 ppm and 20 ppm. Gene expression was generated from brains and livers, and liver cells provided metabolic activity data.

Sightings data for a note on the "First Documentation of Long-Distance Travel by a Florida Manatee to the Mexican Caribbean"

West Indian manatees (Trichechus manatus) are separated into two allopatric subspecies: the Florida manatee (T. m. latirostris) and the Antillean manatee (T. m. manatus). In the winter of 2020-2021, an adult manatee was sighted off the coast of Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico, in areas where Antillean manatees are not typically seen. The individual had distinct watercraft scars on its body, which wer

The Louisiana Amphibian Monitoring Program from 1997 to 2017: Data

Call observation data from the Louisiana Amphibian Monitoring Program (LAMP). Each route has 10 stops. The routes are in one of 3 Louisiana regions (north, south and Florida parishes). Routes are identified by number and name. Call observations are categorical number 0 (not heard) through 3 (full chorus with overlapping calls). Each route has 10 stops. A full description of data collection can be
