UE Published Maps Products and Services Focus Area
The Published Maps Products and Services (PMPS) Focus Area works with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) National Geospatial Program (NGP) to develop and build the content of The National Map.
The National Map is a collaborative effort among the USGS and other Federal, State, and local partners to improve and deliver topographic information for the Nation.
The PMPS Focus Area is engaged in improving NPG data holdings, products, and services by:

Identifying partnership opportunities,

Engaging in data sharing agreements, and

Providing feedback to the NGP about current and future geospatial data and delivery directions.
Applications

The National Digital Trails project is focused on connecting trails to expand recreational opportunities on the Nation’s public lands.

The Geospatial Information Response Team (GIRT) ensures that timely geospatial data are available for use by emergency responders, land and resource managers, and for scientific analysis.
Areas of Interest

Collaboration for the continued maintenance of transportation, structures, and boundary features used within The National Map.

Increased feature content maintained within The National Map databases and portrayed on US Topo products, including recreational data.

Education and outreach regarding the applicability and use of NGP products, services, and capabilities.
