CASC Research Funding Opportunities

The CASCs periodically request proposals for research projects addressing high priority climate adaptation science needs. Eligible applicants include Principal Investigators (PIs) from USGS and regional CASC consortium organizations. Researchers from other organizations can participate by partnering with eligible PIs. Interested applicants should refer to each Funding Opportunity for details.

FY22 Funding Opportunity

Statements of Interest (SOIs) for projects to be initiated in Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 are being accepted for the Alaska, Midwest, North Central, Northeast, Northwest, Pacific Islands, South Central, Southeast, and Southwest regional Climate Adaptation Science Centers (CASCs). Solicited projects should address high-priority natural or cultural resource management issues that can benefit from climate-informed planning and adaptation management. Specific science priorities and needs for each CASC can be found in the CASC FY22 Funding Opportunity document.

FY22 Submission Deadlines and General Schedule:

  • Deadline for Statements of Interest: Friday, March 19, 2021, 5:00 PM EDT
  • Full Proposals Invited (Planned): April 22, 2021
  • Deadline for Invited Full Proposals: Friday, July 23, 2021, 5:00 PM EDT
  • Notification of Intent to Award (Planned): September 8, 2021
