Mineral Resources Program

Data and Tools

MRP information and data can be accessed through multiple pathways from publications to data releases. The Mineral Resources Online Spatial Data web portal is MRP's primary resource for interactive maps and downloadable geospatial data for regional and global geology, geochemistry, geophysics, and mineral resources. Individual data releases and data sets are also listed below.

Airborne electromagnetic and magnetic survey data, Stillwater Complex, Montana, May 2000

A helicopter-borne electromagnetic/magnetic survey was flown over the Stillwater area, southwest Montana from May 5 to May 16, 2000. The survey was conducted over the Stillwater Igneous Complex, a Precambrian layered mafic-ultramafic intrusion which is characterized by igneous layering. Electromagnetic data were acquired using DIGHEM helicopter-borne electromagnetic system. Magnetic data

Mica deposits of the Blue Ridge in North Carolina: digital data

Point locations of mines and prospects were digitized from the plates of USGS Professional Paper 577. Geological characteristics of those deposits was digitized from the tables of the same report. These data are provided in this release as digital geospatial data files. Included in this release are scanned images of the plates and the preliminary text preceding the tables that describe the...

Yale stocks and flows database (YSTAFDB) describing anthropogenic materials cycles, recycling, and criticality for 102 materials on spatial scales ranging from suburbs to global and timescales from the early 1800s to circa 2013

This data release presents the Yale stocks and flows database (YSTAFDB). Its data describe the use of 102 materials from the early 1800s to circa 2013 through anthropogenic cycles, their recycling and criticality properties, and on spatial scales ranging from suburbs to global. This data collection was previously scattered across multiple non-uniformly formatted files such as journal pape
