USGS Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) interns Hazel Mebius and Katelyn Woolfrey are flanked by USGS employees Josh Picotte, Chris Woody and Birgit Peterson. Mebius and Woolfrey did fieldwork to study fire severity in Black Hills National Forest and Sequoia National Park, comparing traditional field methods with lidar scans.
