Data Access Information

USGS operates an integrated system for emergency response data access.

The core capability is the Hazards Data Distribution System (HDDS), which is an event-based map interface that provides immediate download access and delivery, along with other supporting components listed below.

  • Emergency Operations Portal - an informational website that allows users to obtain general information on USGS emergency response capabilities, image requests, and data access
  • Hazards Data Distribution System (HDDS) - a consolidated, single point-of-entry system that provides preview and download access for event-related imagery and other geospatial datasets
  • Collection Management Tool (CMT) - an interactive map-based portal that allows users to view image requests and monitor collection progress of areas of interest (AOIs) and includes integration with HDDS for image deliveries
  • GIS Services - provides access to web-based image services for selected events or datasets
