FRESC Cascadia Field Station
The FRESC Cascadia Field Station (CFS) provides scientific research needed for management and conservation of natural resources with a focus on the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. Research areas include landscape ecology, aquatic ecology, remote sensing, spatial analysis, ecological monitoring, and geographical information science.
The CFS was established to provide scientific support for natural resource managers, especially those in the U.S. Department of the Interior, such as the National Park Service, Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management, and Bureau of Reclamation, and to complement research and graduate instruction in the College of the Environment, School of Environmental and Forest Sciences at the University of Washington. CFS researchers work closely with a wide variety of natural resource managers and university faculty, graduate students, and staff.
