Detailed Description

Gravity-based storage change estimate and water-level change for the years 2003-2006, when compared to the years 2006-2008 show increases in gravity and water levels in central Tucson following a large natural recharge event during the summer of 2006. This, however, is followed by declining gravity and water-level trends in the Tucson Basin which reflect general overdraft conditions and redistribution of recharge throughout a larger region of the aquifer.

Groundwater storage in Avra Valley has increased, largely due to the managed recharge of Central Arizona Project water.
