Estimating Chloride Concentrations in Groundwater – Chloride-Concentration Equation used to Estimate EM Log Response on Long Island, New York: The figure above shows a modeled equation developed by the USGS to estimate chloride concentrations (milligrams per liter) in groundwater as a function of electromagnetic induction (EM) conductivity-log response (millisiemens per meter). The equation was developed from a correlation of 16 sampled and logged wells located in Nassau County, NY (Stumm and Como, 2017) (Public domain).
