MODIS image showing dust
Detailed Description
Dust (indicated by the yellow arrows) is visible across parts of Texas, New Mexico, and northern Mexico in this MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) image from the Aqua satellite. MODIS is quite useful in the documentation of Southwestern dust events since it is overhead at approximately 10am and 2pm local times, which often coincides with the timing of high wind activities in the area.
