Potomac River, VA

Photo shows the Potomac River adjacent to Black Pond.  In the photo, the river is in action stage, which just short of minor flood stage.  Researchers Jess Rodysill and Michael Toomey (Reston) are investigating the history of large river floods along the Potomac River using sediment proxies from Black Pond cores.
