Detailed Description

Image taken from a short video that shows a portion of southern California, northwest of the Los Angeles Basin (Landsat path 41/row 36) for 2009. The left image is the original Landsat scene (spectral bands 7, 4, 2 displayed as red, green, blue to highlight the burn scars). The 2009 Monitoring and Trends Burn Severity (MTBS) fire perimeters are shown as black outlines. The right is the Burned Area detection probability, each pixel value has a value between 0 and 100 representing the probability that it was burned.
